The work of Jameson Green (b. 1992, New Haven, CT; lives and works in Hudson, New York) unfolds through psychologically charged, allegorical scenes. His paintings operate as intimate allegories, rendered in a visual language that draws on the grandeur of art history while incorporating elements of comics and illustration. Through this synthesis, Green constructs figures and narratives that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Engaging with the traditions of artists such as Picasso, Goya, and Rembrandt, he approaches line and gesture as a means of translation—using the inherited language of painting to articulate his own introspective sensibility. His work reflects an ongoing effort to transform a sense of “littleness” into “meaningfulness,” resulting in compositions that balance vulnerability with formal intensity.
He holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York and an MFA from CUNY Hunter College.
Green has been exhibiting at the Gallery since 2020. He has had solo exhibitions at Almine Rech, Paris, France (2024); Almine Rech, London, UK (2022); and Sorry We’re Closed, Brussels, Belgium (2022), among others. He has also been in a number of group shows including at Skarstedt Gallery, London, UK and New York (2025); Dallas Museum of Art (2024); Museo Picasso Málaga, Spain (2023); Almine Rech, New York (2023); Analog Diary, Beacon (2022); Harper’s, East Hampton (2021); and Regular Normal Gallery, New York (2020). Green’s works are in permanent collections at the Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée, La Louvière, Belgium; Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Dallas Museum of Art; Pérez Museum of Art, Miami; and ICA Miami.
