David Korty (b. 1971, San Francisco, CA; lives and works in Los Angeles, California) is known for his mixed-media paintings. Employing a range of tools, such as collage, ink and pencil, Korty works to break down urban landscapes and human figures into arrangements of shape, pattern and color. His stylistic vocabulary closely echoes movements such as Pop, Cubism and Constructivism.
He earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Korty has been exhibiting at the Gallery since 2017. He has had solo exhibitions at Night Gallery, Los Angeles (2019); Sadie Coles HQ, London, UK (2016); and Greene Naftali, New York (2005).
