North Room

Jessica Jackson Hutchins

February 9 - March 11, 2006

Opening reception: Thursday, February 9, 6-8pm

This exhibition will present a group of ceramic sculptures that Hutchins has made in these last months. They are landscapes and they are dishes, and the landscapes are sometimes supports for the tableware. Hutchins was inspired to make them by an event, the Lonely Dinner, A Redemptive Eat-in, which she hosted and for which she prepared food. It was food from abject times in her life, life “Mom’s Funeral Ham” and Stouffer's French Bread Pizza. The dinner, and now these objects, are invitations to celebrate our dark sides.
